The Top 5 Steve Buscemi Performances

Top 5 Steve Buscemi Performances
Warning: May have some Spoilers

Steve Buscemi is one of those odd actors who play the quirky weird characters in movies. Even though this is the case, he can dominate the screen whenever on it. This doesn't happen often so the need to celebrate it when it does happen is high.

Steve Buscemi never gets enough love, only 1 Golden Globe, and not even an Oscar nomination. That in it of itself should be worth jail time, okay not really. All I am trying to say is that steve Buscemi has definitely earned at least one in my mind, his characters are always easy to remember and often the best of the films. So without further ado, the top 5 Steve Buscemi performances.

#5. Armageddon (1998)
Alright, I know it is an absolutely trashy film and it is definitely not good. But, the reason that it is on here is this, the scenes with Steve Buscemi in them were actually funny, and saved the movie. I may have hated this movie with all my guts if Steve Buscemi and his weird brand of humor weren't in the movie. I hate Michael Bay movies and usually there isn't one thing that will make the film worth watching once, but this movie was worth watching once for Steve Buscemi. For being able to save an Michael Bay movie, this has to be one great job, and for that reason this is actually on the list, B+.

Save a Michael Bay movie and the world at the same time? Not impossible.

#4. Ghost World (2001)
A rather odd performance, this always disturbed me a little bit. Just the way that the people in the movie cannot connect with any others besides very few. All I have to say is that even though that is the case, and the audience shouldn't be able to connect to them, some how it all works so well and Steve Buscemi the most relatable one. And that is the real charm this movie has is Steve Buscemi plays such an odd and unconnectable character that myself and most others that I have talked to about this movie can relate to him to a certain extent. It really shows the talent Buscemi has for characters like this, A-

#3. Big Lebowski (1998)
Not a big role, but one that is necessary. Steve Buscemi is present in this movie solely to take verbal abuse from John Goodman and Jeff Bridges, mainly John Goodman. But Steve Buscemi takes the abuse so well, so well in fact no one could have taken that much verbal abuse and taken it so well in that accepting way he does. And for the little bit of screen time he has you feel so bad for him in the end. Again somehow making the audience love him while having so little screen time, amazing job, A-.

#2. Reservoir Dogs (1992)
I may get skinned alive by some for putting this at number two, but oh well. Mr. Pink is basically the only one in this whole movie who is thinking as clearly in a situation like what they have and sees what is going on. He is smarter than basically everyone in movie, which just seems odd and different from how he acts in the famous opening scene in the diner. Wild eyed and the only one who is thinking he delivers a very entertaining and great job in the Tarantino masterpiece, A.

#1. Fargo (1996)
Walk around for half the movie with half your jaw blown off and can barely talk and steal the show? That is something most actors cannot pull off, but the great Steve Buscemi can. This is the role that steve should have at least been nominated for Oscar for, I mean he absolutely kills it Fargo! This is his greatest performance to date and it probably comes from having worked with the Coen brothers. When they are together, there is a recipe for success (not forgetting some other Coen bros favorites). Steve Buscemi cannot quite steal the scenes he is in because everyone else is so good in this movie too! Steve is just among the best and so perfect for this funny lookin' guy role, A+.

There they are, the 5 best Steve Buscemi performances. Steve Buscemi is one of those overlooked actors in film and never gets enough attention. Hope you enjoyed and if I missed one of his best let me know!

  1. Solid list. I just love Steve Buscemi. Dude always brings something strong to the table, no matter the material. Fargo must be his best - it really is an all around perfect performance.
